If there is a large message preventing the Exchange Transport service from running or the physical MAIL.QUE file has become too large from SPAM, it is often best to create a new mail queue and delete the previous.
-
In Services, stop the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service.
-
In Windows Explorer, go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Transport Roles\Data\Queue and rename the folder to Queueold.
-
Start the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service and test sending and receiving internal and external e-mail.
-
After testing, delete Queueold folder.
