Dell Alert Eguallogic PS Series Firmware

We wanted to make you aware of an issue that some customers may have experienced when downloading and installing v5.0.0 or v5.0.1 of the Dell EqualLogic™ firmware. Dell has become aware of potential issues with the installation and operation of these versions of the firmware. Under certain conditions, any or all of the following might occur:

• Volumes might not come online properly immediately after the install.

• Replication might not occur properly.

• VMware V4.1 Zero offload performance might be affected.

Dell has already taken the following actions:

• Customers who downloaded either version have been contacted to advise them of the potential issues.  

• Firmware v5.0.0 and v5.0.1 have been removed from the website until a new release is available.

• Dell is working to address these issues in future firmware releases.

 If you have not yet installed the V5.0.0 or V5.0.1 firmware updates, Dell recommends that you do not install it at this time. If these firmware updates have already been installed and you are experiencing any issues with the array(s), please contact your Matrixforce technical support team for assistance.
