Does Matrixforce host or resell Office 365?
No. Matrixforce is a top tier Microsoft Cloud Accelerate Partner. Partners are not permitted to resell Office 365. All Office 365 infrastructure is hosted by Microsoft. All customers purchase their subscription directly from Microsoft. Matrixforce provides value added services to ensure your usage and migration to Office 365 is fast, smooth, and successful.

Is Office 365 reliable?
Yes and Microsoft offers a financially backed 99.9% Office 365 Service Level Agreement. Microsoft also operates between 10 and 100 geo-redundant data centers located around the world.

Is Office 365 secure?
Office 365 Security provides a level of safety and regulation compliance that very few customers can match including ISO 27001, EU Model Clauses, HIPAA-BAA, FISMA, and DPA.

Who owns the data on Office 365?
Per Office 365 Privacy, customers retain all rights, title, and interest in the data stored with Office 365.  A full copy of your data can be downloaded at any time and for any reason, without any assistance from Microsoft. Upon Office 365 subscription expiration or termination, Microsoft provides by default 90 days of limited access to export data.

How long are the Microsoft Online Subscription Agreements?
Office 365 agreements are one year.

What is the best Office 365 subscription plan?
The best value is Office 365 E3 that adds Office Professional Plus, unlimited email storage and archiving, and hosted voicemail support. See Office 365 Pricing.

Can you mix and match subscription plans?
Yes, you can mix subscription plans between users based upon need except for P1. To switch from P1 to another subscription, you must backup your data, cancel the P1 subscription, and import the data into a new plan. For this reason and other additional limitations, Office 365 P1 is not recommended by Matrixforce.

Is there nonprofit pricing for Office 365?
If you are a 501(3)(c) organization you may qualify for an average 50% discount on Office 365. See Office 365 Nonprofit Pricing.

Can I use my own domain name in Office 365?
Yes, Office 365 supports multiple custom domain names.

Can I use Outlook or just a browser?
Customers may use Outlook with an Outlook Anywhere connection, Outlook Web App, or various smartphones and tablets.

Is Office 365 compatible with Mac?
Yes, however Mac users must purchase Office for Mac 2011 to be compatible with desktop features.

Matrixforce provides Office 365 deployment and support for clients throughout the United States.

What email systems can be migrated to Office 365?
Matrixforce migrates clients using on-premise Exchange, hosted Exchange, POP/IMAP, Google Apps, and Lotus Notes.

What is the process to migrate to Office 365?
Matrixforce provides a migration plan for e-mail, document storage, and presence or selected subset of available services. Then a free 30-day trial is started, users are enabled, separate Outlook profiles configured, presence client deployed, document portals configured, and mail synchronization started. Finally, mail delivery is directed to Office 365, documents are uploaded, and existing related on-premise servers or applications are decommissioned. Clients may choose co-existence with directory synchronization or direct cut-over.

What is the deployment cost for Office 365?
Matrixforce provides a fixed cost price based upon the unique operating environment and business need of each client for Exchange, Lync, and SharePoint. On-going monthly cost is billed directly from Microsoft and generally starts at $8 per user per month.

Is it possible to migrate in one day?
Matrixforce recommends a well-planned approach to migrating to the cloud for a successful transition. However, circumstance may dictate otherwise and Matrixforce does offer emergency migration services for special circumstances.

What email items don't get migrated when moving to Office 365?
All messages and data are simply moved to another location and fully accessible in Outlook. However, the following user customization or profile specific items are not retained: signatures, delegates, categorization, rules, and auto-complete (nicknames).

What are the Office 365 limitations?

  • Exchange Online:  Outlook 2007+, 25GB mailbox, 25MB attachment limit, and 1,500 recipients per day
  • Lync Online: 250 online attendee limit
  • SharePoint Online: 25TB per tenant, 300 site collections of 100GB each (mysites do not count toward this limit), 5,000 objects per site, 500MB storage per mysite, & 250MB file size limit

Does Matrixforce use Office 365?
Yes. Matrixforce began using and supporting the previous service, Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) in 2008 and was a transition partner to Office 365 in 2009. We eliminated on-premise Exchange, Lync, and SharePoint along with related anti-virus, filtering, storage, and backup/failover. As an example to clients, Matrixforce has saved approximately $50,000 annually on capital cost and maintenance expense with higher security and easier accessibility. In the event of a disaster or for normal daily operations, our team focuses on supporting customers rather than failover and maintenance of on-premise or rack hosted systems.
